MetroPCS to use Nuance Mobile Care for 611 Service

Add MetroPCS’ 6.1 million subscribers throughout the U.S. to the group of wireless customers who with more on device options for customer care and self-service. Nuance Communications and MetroPCS announced an agreement whereby Nuance Mobile Care will serve as the platform for self-service reached by dialing 611 on a mobile handset.

Among U.S. mobile network operators, MetroPCS is an innovator. Its emphasis on “no contracts” and competitive pricing is just the beginning. It has also offered unlimited access to enhanced Directory Assistance (powered by V-Enable) and now it is giving its subscribers more options for “on device” self service, including the ability to check their balance, manage their plan and pay bills without having to wait in queue to reach an agent.
