The combination of voice services and Web 2.0 is definitely living up to its promise. It puts the emphasis on rapid deployment of new services through a variety of communications channels. Jaduka Voice Notification, which was formally announced yesterday at IDC’s SaaScon 2009, is a case in point. The new service enables companies to use email to launch outbound notification campaigns.
Through an email messages, enterprise customers can send Text-to-Speech or wav/mp3 files to designated recipients’ phones. It integrates with the leading enterprise email clients and can track activity in a way that enables service providers to resell the service to their customers. Make no mistake. Jaduka Voice Notification is not designed to compete with the likes of Nuance Notification Hub or other, more robust “intelligent notification services”. Nuance’s value proposition is based on deep integration with contact center and voice processing infrastructure and can do such things as transfer a call to a live agent as may be appropriate within the workflow.
By contrast, Jaduka has established a simple way for an executive to use an email client to define and initiate outbound calls for collections, delivery notifications, appointment confirmations and the like by using their email client. It is offered as a “pay-as-you-go” service which requires no capital outlay.
