A new service, called xFA(TM), from Authentify provides a glimpse of multifactor authentication’s future. Building on the company’s legacy of certificate-based, out-of-band, phone-based user authentication, the company is employing a new, screen-based approach to replacing OTP (one-time passwords) or KBA (knowledge-based authentication) in order to log-on to a secure network.

UK Grant for Voice Biometrics in Multifactor Authentication
In late March, the UK’s Technology Strategy Board – an “arms-length” agency reporting to the United Kingdom’s Department of Business, Innovation and Skills – announced a grant of 300 British Pounds Sterling (Approximately $480 U.S.) for research, development and enhancement of use cases that deploy voice biometrics for strong user authentication.
