Dan Miller, Senior Analyst & Founder, Opus Research
Dan Miller has over 20 years experience in marketing, business development and corporate strategy for telecom service providers, computer makers and application software developers. Dan founded Opus Research in 1985 and helped define the Conversational Access Technologies marketplace by authoring scores of reports, advisories and newsletters addressing business opportunities that reside where automated speech leverages Web services, mobility and enterprise software infrastructure.
As Director of the New Electronic Media Program at LINK Resources from 1980-1983, he helped define one of the first continuous advisory services in the information industry. He then held management positions at Atari, Warner Communications and Pacific Telesis Group.
Dan founded Opus Research, Inc. and published Telemedia News & Views, a highly-regarded monthly newsletter regarding developments in voice processing and intelligent network services. He served as Editor-in-Chief of The Kelsey Report, where he also oversaw the launch of advisory services on local online commerce, voice & wireless commerce and global directories. He participated in consulting projects in call center-based commerce, voice-based communications and enhanced networking for clients that included Ameritech, AT&T Wireless, Sun Microsystems, GTE, Nortel, U S WEST, R.R. Donnelley, Pacific Bell and a number of entrepreneurial firms.
Dan received his BA from Hampshire College and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. He has been quoted in SpeechTek magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Wired.com, CommWeb and elsewhere. He has also provided commentary on CNN and TechTV.

Greg Sterling, Senior Analyst & Program Director, Local Mobile Search
Greg Sterling is the founding principal of Sterling Market Intelligence, a consulting and research firm focused on online consumer and advertiser behavior and the relationship between the Internet and traditional media, with an emphasis on the local search marketplace.
Before leaving The Kelsey Group, Sterling ran its Interactive Local Media program. Prior to The Kelsey Group Sterling was at TechTV where he helped produce the first national television show dedicated to e-business and the Internet: “Working the Web.†Prior to TechTV he was a founding editor and executive producer at AllBusiness.com, a leading small-business ASP and Web site. Before joining AllBusiness, Sterling was a practicing attorney in San Francisco.

Kip Heuertz , Program Manager, Opus Research
Kipton (Kip) Heuertz has over 25 years experience in international marketing, product marketing, product management, alliances, sales strategy, and channel development. Heuertz has had various management, marketing, alliances, and technical assignments with Vicorp UK Limited, Eicon Networks, Clarke American, Datapoint, and IBM.
His technology experience covers system and network architectures, telecommunications, PBXs, network switches and routers, IP Video, streaming video, video conferencing, video PBX, IVR systems, voice application development, financial systems, and visual merchandising. Heuertz received his BBA and MBA from Amber University and has a strong computer science background. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences regarding speech processing, contact centers, and telecommunications.

Derek Top, Director of Research, Opus Research
With 10 years of publishing experience, Derek Top has covered executive-level, IT business trends and the impact of transformative technologies. Most recently, he was with CMP Media, both as events editor with InformationWeek magazine and senior associate editor with Optimize, responsible for editing and writing feature stories on the current topics facing CIOs in the areas of business strategy and execution. Previously, Top was features editor with Streaming Media, Inc., which produced a monthly magazine, daily news online, and in-depth research reports.
